Meet Bodybuilding.com Master Coach:
Gabe Snow

Approaching training through sustainability and exploration, Gabe maximizes efficiency in movement, allowing you to rediscover your body’s power.

Gabe Snow, Master Coach, believes fitness is just recess for adults. As a former collegiate athlete, Gabe understands the correlation between proper maintenance of the human body and the mind. Overcoming many injuries and being different sizes forced him to examine his body’s purpose. Gabe realized that fitness empowered him to use his body how he saw fit. The results helped him transform, leading to a vibrant career in modeling and fitness.

We had a chance to discuss Gabe's journey to fitness and Bodybuilding.com. Here’s what he said.

Who are you, and what do you do?

My name is Gabe Snow, and I aim to help others achieve their desired outcomes within their bodies. I use my experiences and positive outlook to guide others toward the life they want to live.

When and where did your fitness journey begin?

Growing up with a father who was a professional athlete, I was surrounded by fitness. My fitness journey began in my father’s basement weight room when I was around nine-years-old. While I sought external validation through sports, my intrinsic motivation (drive to do something because you enjoy it) stemmed from my struggle with weight and wanting to fit in with my family.

What got you hooked on fitness as a career?

I experienced a traumatic event in college that led me to quitting football, which was my mental health outlet. I turned to training, and realized it—not just football—was crucial for my well-being. I moved off campus, started cooking more, and training as I always had. I totally transformed my body. As I shared my transformation with others, they asked me to train them. This realization of being able to help others through movement sparked my desire to turn my passion into a career.

What’s your movement of choice?

Walking is my preferred movement. It has numerous therapeutic benefits, stimulating both the mind and body. Unlike running, which often focuses on distance and speed, walking allows for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, encouraging deep breathing and mindfulness.

What’s the difference between working out and training?

Training involves a structured program with specific goals and measurable outcomes, often preparing for an event. In contrast, working out is more about maintaining wellness and can lack the efficiency of a training regimen. Both are important, but training is generally more focused and intentional.

What does being strong mean to you?

Being strong means being able to generate and resist forces dynamically. It’s about moving fluidly and resiliently, like a bungee cord rather than a rigid dock rope.

How does training benefit you physically, mentally, and emotionally?

Training keeps my body pain-free through mobility exercises, and serves as an emotional outlet, allowing me to process complex thoughts. It keeps me creative, engaged, and constantly provides new opportunities for learning.

Tell us about your routine: from training regimen to nutrition, fueling, and recovery.

My training has become more sporadic than the strict schedules I followed for football and bodybuilding from ages 16 to 30. I incorporate kettlebells, calisthenics, running, and powerlifting into my workouts, keeping my approach versatile.

My nutrition is about 70% clean eating, based on my energy needs, while the remaining 30% allows indulgence. I prioritize digestibility and sustainability by focusing on lean proteins, moderate carbs, and low fats. My recovery includes weekly IV supplementation, manual therapy, and daily mobility work.

What’s your supplement routine?

I used to have a rigorous supplement regimen, but now I focus on a multivitamin, an adaptogen mushroom supplement, and protein added to my oatmeal or Greek yogurt. I take a pre-workout supplement as needed. Some of my favorite Bodybuilding.com supplements are Signature 100% Whey Protein in Oatmeal Cookie and Signature L-Carnitine.

How did Bodybuilding.com help you in your early days of training?

Growing up with a father who was a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, I was encouraged to invest in supplements. Bodybuilding.com was the only place I could order supplements online. It empowered me to take control of my training and outcomes.

What piece of advice would you give someone just starting their fitness journey?

Focus on consistency rather than intensity or numbers. It’s important to show up for yourself regularly without getting too caught up in metrics like weight or workout duration.

What is one thing you would tell your future self?

Chill out!
